Soaring to New Heights
Collaboration Information
Soaring to New Heights began as a collaborative effort with Wichita USD 259, Kansas Rehabilitation Services, Kansas Health Policy Authority, and the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning. The project began in the summer of 2008 and has grown from three high schools in the Spring 2009 semester to seven USD 259 high schools and a special day school.
A grant from Kansas Rehabilitation Services supports the implementation of Soaring to New Heights in five NEW high schools for Fall 2011 semester. Located in various schools across Kansas, they are:
• Garden City High School
• Ottawa High School
• Chautauqua-Elk County Special Education Cooperative (three schools):
o Howard – West Elk High School
o Longton – Elk Valley High School
o Sedan – Chautauqua County Community High School
